Adrienne White, a former PhD student at the University of Ottawa (now at the Canadian Ice Service), Luke Copland (LCR, uOttawa) and Derek Mueller published on how the surface mass balance on the Milne Ice Shelf was more pronounced at the inland side of the ice shelf than its outer part, due to a gradient in climate conditions.  The observations (taken before the ice shelf calved in 2020) indicate that the Milne Ice Shelf lost 4.35 m of ice on average due to surface ablation (melt) from 2008 to 2019.  Read more about this in their article in the Journal of Glaciology here: https://doi.org/10.1017/jog.2026.10195.
